THE LOCAL AREA This is an ideal touring base with many things to see and do. We are just over two miles from the city centre and on a bus route. Inverness Airport is a fifteen minute drive away. We are only two miles from historic Culloden Moor, site of the last battle to be fought on British soil which ended in the defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1746. Also close by is Clava Cairns, Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle, Fort George and Urquhart Castle. You must visit Loch Ness, west of Inverness which also would take in a tour of the Great Glen and Ben Nevis, not forgetting a scenic drive through Glen Affric. Organised cruises are available from Inverness Harbour to catch a glimpse of the dolphins who live in and around the Moray Firth. East of Inverness, a variety of distilleries are available for you to visit and taste the world famous Scotch whisky. There are many golf courses nearby; also fishing, hill walking, pony trekking, swimming, cycling and pleasant walks to enjoy. A visit to the Loch Garten Osprey Centre is not to be missed and the Cairngorm mountains are within easy reach. We have a variety
of leaflets available in the house and will willingly offer assistance
for any special place of interest you wish to visit. |
DIRECTIONS: On the southern outskirts of Inverness take the exit for the B9006 (in the direction of Culloden Battlefield and Croy) off the main A9 (Inverness-Perth) trunk road eastwards. Continue up the hill for 2.5 miles. Eiland View is situated on the left hand side and is clearly signposted at the top of the drive. |
